About the Twitter Card Generator

Twitter Cards decide whether your link appears on X as a full-width image card or a cramped one-line link. The difference in engagement between the two is substantial.

Pick a card type, fill the required fields, and this generator outputs valid markup with the fields each type actually demands.

How to use the Twitter Card Generator

  1. Choose your card type: summary for a small square thumbnail, summary_large_image for the full-width variant most publishers use.
  2. Add twitter:title and twitter:description. Titles are cut at about 70 characters on the card itself.
  3. Supply an absolute image URL. summary_large_image expects a 2:1 ratio, ideally 1200×600 or larger, under 5 MB.
  4. Paste the tags into <head> and validate by posting the link in a draft post — X's standalone validator was retired.
