About the Meta Tag Generator

A title tag and meta description are the two lines a searcher reads before deciding whether your page is worth a click. Google truncates titles at roughly 580 pixels (about 60 characters) and descriptions around 155–160 characters, so writing blind in a code editor usually means discovering the cut-off after publishing.

This generator gives you a live character counter as you type, then assembles the complete block — title, description, robots directives, viewport and charset — as valid HTML you can paste straight into your <head>.

How to use the Meta Tag Generator

  1. Type your page title. Lead with the primary keyword and keep it under about 60 characters so it survives the SERP truncation.
  2. Write the description as a one-sentence pitch, not a keyword list. Aim for 140–155 characters and include a reason to click.
  3. Set the robots directive. Leave it on index, follow for normal pages; switch to noindex for thank-you pages, internal search results and thin tag archives.
  4. Copy the generated block and paste it inside <head>, above any stylesheet links so crawlers hit it early.
