About the MD5 Generator

MD5 is cryptographically broken — practical collisions have existed since 2004 — but it remains widely used for non-security fingerprinting: cache keys, file checksums, deduplication, legacy Gravatar hashes.

This generator computes the MD5 digest of any text directly in your browser.

How to use the MD5 Generator

  1. Paste the text you want to hash.
  2. Copy the 32-character hexadecimal digest.
  3. Compare it against a published checksum if you are verifying a download.
  4. Choose SHA-256 instead if the hash has any security role.
