About the Keyword Density Checker

Keyword density stopped being a ranking lever a long time ago, but it remains a useful diagnostic: it shows at a glance whether a draft actually covers its topic or drifts away from it.

Paste your copy to see the most frequent words plus two- and three-word phrases, with occurrence counts and percentages.

How to use the Keyword Density Checker

  1. Paste the body copy only — strip navigation, footers and sidebars, or they will dominate the counts.
  2. Read the single-word list first to confirm your main topic appears naturally near the top.
  3. Check two- and three-word phrases. These reveal the phrasing you actually used, which is often not the phrasing you intended.
  4. Rewrite anything sitting far above the rest of the text; unnatural repetition reads badly to humans before it ever concerns an algorithm.
